On August 30, 2008, somewhere between 40,000 (yeah, right!) and 300,000 people gathered in Taipei to protest President Ma Ying-jeou's (馬英九) policies during his first 100 days in office. These policies have damaged Taiwan's sovereignty, prices have gone up across the board -- even on items whose prices are going down internationally, and "justice" is being meted out on a basis that is so partisan as to look more like "revenge" than anything.
I took the HSR up to Taipei on Saturday and joined in. See for yourself what Taiwanese people think of Mr. Ma and China.
