We all know the story - Gary Payton is bothered by a calf injury and doesn't guard Michael Jordan the first three games of the '96 Finals. After the Bulls win all three of them, George Karl makes the adjustment and The Glove guards MJ in Game 3. He and David Wingate hold Jordan to a poor percentage of 32% from the field as the Sonics blow out the Bulls. Look for Payton doing an incredible job of fronting Michael and not letting him receive the ball. Gary also had 21 points and 11 assists. June 12, 1996.
