Cast: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Denis Leary, Irrfan Khan, Campbell Scott, Annie Parisse, C. Thomas Howell, Julianne Nicholson, Chris Zylka, Miles Elliot

One of the world's most popular characters is back on the big screen as a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy is revealed in The Amazing Spider-Man™. Focusing on an untold story that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story, the new film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the film in association with Marvel Entertainment for Columbia Pictures, which will open in theaters everywhere in 3D on July 3, 2012.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance -- leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

Spectacular Spider-Man
Ok, I know Raimi fans will hate me for this, but this is my favorite Spidey movie. It felt like it gave the fans exactly what they wanted. Before the script was even written, fans wanted Lizard, they got that, they wanted Gwen, they got that. This movie was fucking amazing in my opinion.

Spectacular Spider-Man I agree. In my honest opinion I find The Amazing Spider-Man films worth watching over the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films. These movies made you see the big issues of the Sam Raimi films even though the fight and action scenes are well choreographed. The problem with the Sam Raimi films is that there are loads of dull moments, the acting is like melted cheese and the worst part is MJ who is in my opinion the worst love interest in any Superhero film, on the bright side The Amazing Spider-Man films are worth watching. The reason is that the acting is way better, no cheesy dialogue, the action scenes are well done and Gwen Stacy is the best love interest of Spider-Man and they have a cute Chemistry. I prefer Gwen because she is not some whiny girl who always screams that will irritate and annoy you over and over again like MJ who did nothing but scream, here Gwen plays a very important role in helping Spider-Man save the world which is what the Sam Raimi films failed to do including Spider-Man's fun and goofy humorous jokes that will make you forget the lame seriousness of Tobey Maguire's portrayal on the character. But the new actor Tom Holland who portrayed the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America Civil War is the best portrayal of Spider-Man since Andrew Garfield and I look forward for the new Spider-Man reboot which is now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Spider-Man made his appearance in Captain America Civil War and Spider-Man is back where he belongs in Marvel Studios itself.

Seriously, why do people hate this movie? It's fucking great! This is what I keep hearing from these so-called fans: "Andrew Garfield is the worst Spider Man ever!" Uh, no. If Shia Labeouf played Spider Man in this movie, then I would agree with you guys. Andrew Garfield possibly played a better Spider Man than Toby Maguire. He was funny, energetic and badass. Just like how the comic books portrayed him. Plus, Garfield is British and he pulls off a great American accent, just saying. Now, I wonder what this movie would be like if Logan Lerman played Spider Man. "Peter Parker is too cool to be nerdy because he rides a skateboard!" A SKATEBOARD!? OOOOOOOHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!! Big Whoop. Who gives a shit? I'm a nerd too, I ride a bike and I once owned a skateboard. Aren't you guys overreacting a little bit? Just because someone looks cool doesn't mean he fits in with the cool kids. I'm actually glad that this Peter Parker isn't the stereotypical nerd. "Peter Parker in this movie is a douche!" So Peter Parker in Spider Man 3 is not a douche? Okay, he acted like a "douche" one time when he was arguing with Uncle Ben and that's it. Peter in this movie is funny, likable and relatable. And come on, he shows off more emotion than Crybaby Maguire. Be happy that Garfield's Peter Parker doesn't make any sudden dance moves on the streets of New York City like Spider Man 3. "This movie came out too early! We already had Spider Man 3 a few years ago!" Okay, I admit that TASM was released a little too early, especially for a reboot. When I first heard of TASM, I thought it was going to suck like Spider Man 3. But I was so wrong. I actually loved it. I thought TASM was better than the original trilogy. Even critics liked TASM. Not saying that you guys have to; it's your opinion whether you like TASM or not. Even if you hate this movie with a fiery passion, you gotta admit that Gwen Stacy is a better leading lady than the oh so useless Mary Jane. Plus, I love the supporting cast like Martin Sheen, Emma Stone and Sally Field. They gave such lively performances. In my honest opinion, I think The Amazing Spider Man lives up to its title. I think it's the best Spider Man movie yet. Maybe we didn't need another origin story, but I'm glad this is somewhat different with Peter Parker's parents and a new villain for examples. At least this wasn't a shot-for-shot remake of the first Spider Man movie. Now I just want Spider Man to join The Avengers. If only Sony gave their TASM rights to Disney/Marvel, it could happen. To be honest, as far as villains go, Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin is much better than the other one in TASM 2. Just putting it out there.

I will admit this trailer built up great hope but ultimately was let down by the movie, the whole feel and theme of this trailer does not match the movie at all, no way is the movie as deep or intense let alone mature as this trailer falsely made me believe it was.
The base story was identical, and they actually took parts from Spider-Man 2 and 3. Which was unnecessary. We didn't need it to be an origins story. We have one already, and it was great. I just felt like it was a waste, when they could have come up with something completely original from the first trilogy.
I would have loved the movie, if Spider-Man 1 didn't exist. Its nearly an identical story as the first Spider-Man. Other than that its still an enjoyable watch.
The high school scene was the best fight scene in the movie

As much as I love the first trilogy,I actually loved the Amazing Spider Man 1 and 2 and with an announcement about the 3,I'm pretty excited. This is my opinion and it really made Spider Man cooler when Andrew Garfield played as him. With the new deal between Sony and Marvel,I say KEEP Andrew Garfield as Spider Man! If not I would go with Dylan O' Brien.

They are going reboot Spider-Man again, and Garfield is not coming back.
