Glen Michael's Cartoon Cavalcade" (later "Glen Michael's Cavalcade") began a record breaking run of 26 years in 1966. During this astonishing run, it is claimed that it was watched by over two billion viewers making it one of the most popular Scottish and British television shows in history.

In the 60s it was broadcast on Westward, Southern and Tyne tees. Grampian also broadcast the series.

Glen's companions was Paladin the talking lamp and two dogs, Rudi and Rusti.

The readings of children's birthday cards that viewers had sent in, was also very popular, with Glen also sending birthday cards personally to those who could not have their cards read on air.
