Labor Day Weekend 2014 was spent piecing together my SNES collection of 8+ years. One by one, I boxed 200 American games. Set up insert, slide game into insert, insert insert and manual into box, and then slip the box inside a box protector. Repeat 200 times! I had some good flashbacks flipping through certain manuals and admiring the artwork and looking at the back of boxes. I acquired most of these items back in 2006, but have kept them tucked away all these years. It's nice to finally begin displaying them.
Next step: I got about 200 more to box and then I need to set them up in ABC order. Fun times. Man, it's a thing of beauty. The box protectors are highly recommended and they come courtesy of Dan Godkin from retroprotection.com. I got 200 for $142 money order ($147 if you do paypal for the 3%). That's a measly 71 cents per, and it's a smart investment to protect these filmsy SNES boxes from collecting dust or becoming damaged over time. Plus, they just give your collection a classy, glossy and sleek look :)
I love coming into my game room and seeing a wall full of SNES goodness :) It takes me back to being at a SOFTWARE ETC. or KB Toys 20 years ago. Better late than never!
