Giovanna Taormina, founder and executive director of Girls Circle Association appeared on the Global TV Morning Show in Vancouver, British Columbia, just prior to initiating a two-day facilitator training program in the Canadian city. Over 40 new facilitators learned the Girls Circle model at the Hilton Vancouver Metro Town hotel. Girls Circle provides a setting in which small groups meet two hours weekly for eight to 12 weeks or more. Currently utilized around the world by over 5,000 schools, juvenile justice, mental health, child welfare, public health and youth serving organizations, Girls Circle is called a promising approach by the U.S. Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
