Different tests were made by some friends of mine and me. In this video you can clearly see how dying behind a cover is so frustrating. The video has been divided in different sections:
1 - Pistol - latency 150 I announce when I will hide under the cover by counting down 3 2 1, then my friend shoots me. The point is that for me I am fully behind the cover, hidden and protected. But in my friend's view, he can still see my body/head and kill me.
2 - Machine gun - latency 30 Even in low latency, no lag, the same problem happens. I hide but I still get the hit registered hence damage.
3 (latency 150) and 6 (latency 30) - Pistol In this section, if played in slow motion, you can see that I first die and then the shot comes out from my friend's gun. So this clearly shows why you die without hearing any shot first or seeing the enemy shooting. It's not lag, unfortunately, otherwise it would be easy to fix or change. The point is that you can't have any natural defensive reaction while playing, hence more frustration. Once you know that you really get killed before the shot comes out the gun, so the view of the game changes. Adapting the game will make you shoot at every enemy around you, instead of checking who actually noticed you sneaking around and then kill.
4 (latency 30) and 5 (latency 150) - Sniper rifles Same thing - frustration for being hidden and still getting killed.
7 - Random kill with the sniper rifle - latency 150 No, I didn't kill that guy I was aiming at. Someone jumped over the wall and passed in my line of shot but I didn't even see him. Well, I'd say that was because of the hit registration. It's like shooting his shadow but still being able to kill.
8 - Sniper rifle - latency 30 And again, I shoot the shadow and kill my friend. Of couse, in my friend's screen shows that he was entirely behind the cover.
I will be happy to answer any question. These tests were made in order to point out some glitches in this game that frustrates a lot, it's not about entertainment. I have no hope about it being fixed, after all.
