The Indian armed forces have intensified patrolling along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh and the entire area is expected to be brought under radar surveillance. China is mostly depending on its naval footprint in the Indian Ocean. It has a surveillance station off the Myanmar coast and a newly built port in Gawadar, Pakistan. Both are militarily significant. But India counters this advantage with its naval base at the western mouth of the Gulf of Malacca on the Andamans.
