A fan re-edited version of the newly released trailer for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."

Re-edit Goals:
1.) Remove the Title Cards: While the "Harry Potter" Series as a whole is more than worthy of such claims as "The Motion Picture Event of a Generation," I felt it generally goes without saying.

2.) Eliminate "3D": This goes back to point number one. "Harry Potter" has dignity, being THE most lucrative franchise in Cinema History and all...Therefore, the "Complete the Journey in 3D" at the end felt disingenuous...It inspired more of a "Not you too, Harry" vibe after so much fantastic content that preceded it.
It has been completely omitted to place the emphasis back on the Release Dates of the two parts.

3.) Make It Feel "Teasery": While this version still packs most of the content of the original trailer into a smaller timeframe, it does so with the intent to create a greater sense of urgency to the procedings. The original trailer felt as though it were lingering quite a bit in parts, especially during its second section after Voldemort's "Avada Kadavera!"

Since this second section existed mainly for the very title cards deleted, Voldemort's killing curse now leads directly into the breathless stakes that are at the forefront of these final films. Hopefully, this better markets the "on-the-edge" tone of these two films and makes it feel more "Teasery" with so much to glimpse and grasp at once.

Granted: The transition might be jarring... : P

4.) Original Music: Hedwig's Theme now plays faintly while Voldemort "greets" Harry at the beginning of the Trailer as a means of subtly reminding the audience of how far we've come to reach this moment; moreover, it adds a chilling undertone to the procedings and provides a contrast to the thunderous version of the same theme which plays at the end of the trailer.

5.) Make it about Harry Potter, not Voldemort: The first words of the Original Trailer were addressing Voldemort and the last words spoken before the title were by Voldemort. Not to mention the awkwardness of hearing "No sign of him, my lord" three seconds before Voldemort turns around and sees Harry ("Oh... there he is..."). : P

The first line is now "Harry Potter," and the final line before the title appears is spoken by Harry Potter with great resolve. This also allows the "Only I can live forever" line to be moved to the title card, much like previous "Harry Potter" trailers had a line over the titles.

Disagree or do not feel these were well executed? Hey, it was just a fun experiment and only a minute and twenty-nine seconds of your time...

...unless you read this description, too. : P
