Here is a typical crappie fishing day in Occoquan river, VA. It rained very often during April. Water temp was up to 61-62 F. And the air temp was 45-82F.

Until June I need to be with 30 minute driving distance to internet access for my work requirement. So I can't go to the Chesapeake Bay. I am fishing local waters only.

Crappie started biting darker colors during April. For 2.5-3 hours I usually catch 1 catfish, 2 bulegil, 0-2 shad, 0-2 yellow perch, 4-9 crappie at 9-11 inches.
