Saint Joseph's University students and facilitators embark on a wonderful alternative spring break traveling to the Appalachian Region. More than 300 students participated this year, making this a record for SJU. Sites: Lantz Farm, Roanoke, Almost Heaven, Cranks Creek, Wheeling, Phelps, Neon, Barren Springs, Allegheny Highlands, Raven/Grundy, Fries, and Hazard. We built houses, cleaned up parks, served at soup kitchens, painted, worked with youth, created memorable friendships with the people at our sites (and our group members), and more! You can't really describe WHAT is the Appalachian Experience; you have to see for yourself. "Love ought to be put more in deeds than in words" -St. Ignatius of Loyola
