Hey everyone! I have heard Tobuscus dramatic song many times and I saw more and more people cover it in their own language so I decided to do it as well in my native language Frisian as that language is quite rare. Thanks to thebellaBeth for inspriring me. She has an awesome German cover, so check hers out as well if you hadn't already!

Enjoy feeling like a foreign grandma ^^

Original song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WteF0j...

Instrumental by: TrvD1, but cut it up a little to match the original length

Please ignore some wrong notes I have in the beginning.

Frisian lyrics, also thanks to frisianmouve for improving them:

Dit ferske klinkt dramatysk, mar ik bin net goed mei wurden
Mar ast Frysk net ferstean kinst, dan klinkt 't warskynlyk hiel goed
Do tinkst no fêst dat ik oer serieuse dingen sjong
Dit diel is yntens en emoasjoniel, sa langst do it mar net ferstiest

Dyn bûtenlanske beppe, fynt it fêst hiel moai
Stjoer it troch nei har en se sil warskynlik freonen fertelle
Oer it ferske dat har beppesizzer hjoed stjoert hat

It ferske kin sa yn de hitlyst komme ot it klinkt as coldplay
Ot it refrein klinkt as coldplay
Dan brink in pear lala's deryn, lalalala lalalalala

Tenminste, net yn dyn tael
Mar ast it echt wolst witte, tink hjir dan oan
En do binst yn it túnhûske

Mar do moast my fertrouwe
It ferske is gewoan briljant

English -- please read this after you finished the song if you don't know this song yet XD

This song sounds dramatic
but I'm bad at writing words.
If you don't speak English,
this probably sounds pretty good.

You'd probably think I'm singing
bout some pretty serious stuff.
But in reality, I'm singing 'bout
the lack of stuff i'm singing 'bout.

This part's intense.
And emotional.
As long as you don't understand it.

Your foreign grandma
would love this song.

Please send it to her,
and she'll probably tell her
foreign friends about the song her
grandson or daughter sent her today.

This song might hit the charts in her country
if parts sounded like Coldplay.

If the chorus sounds like Coldplay.

Then I put some 'La-La-La's in there.
La la la la la,
la la la la la la la (Coldplay)

Hopefully your foreign grandma
listens to this song everyday.
And if she asks you to
translate the lyrics, here's what you say:

"A perfect translation does not exist.
Well, at least, not in your language.
But if you must know, well, picture this:
Fifty billion rainbows,
and the sun is setting,
and the moon is setting, also,
and you're there in a gazebo.
And then God descends from heaven
and He gives you a million dollars.
Take that feeling,
and put it into a song.
I could translate word by word,
but that'd take too long.
And I've got stuff to do grandma.
I don't have time for this.
You've gotta trust me grandma,
this freakin' song is brilliant."
