In this video we show you how to program and register your Icom Marine VHF radio with DSC. Once you register, you receive a specific MMSI number that belongs to you and your VHF radio. This is like a telephone number. It's vital in emergency situations, but, can also be used for everyday vessel to vessel communications.

Digital Selective Calling, or DSC, is a safety method of establishing a radio call; it has been designated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as an international standard for maritime MF, HF, and VHF radio distress calls. It is part of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). Watch to learn how easy it is to register and program your radio.
