Come aboard a newly restored 1930 design for part of a race during the 2012 St. Maarten Heineken Regatta. Owners Matt Brooks and Pam Rorke Levy have assembled a new crew led by skipper Jamie Hilton to prepare for the Newport-Bermuda Race in June. While the audio is muffled on this GoPro video, the view from the port shrouds shows how wet Dorade is in 20-25 knots of wind as the crew tacks, shake a reef, set and douse a spinnaker. Boats.com editor John Burnham is a crewmember on the boat, and you can read his Dorade Log on the regatta at the Boats.com link above, as well as an earlier story, anticipating the event: http://features.boats.com/boat-conten...
A month later, Dorade participated in Les Voiles de St. Barth, winning again as it continued its training program for Bermuda. The effort was documented in a mid-week video http://youtu.be/6a_1eMs4NbU and a wrap-up, including crew interviews: http://youtu.be/I7DDjsxr5OY
