Tim Hartley's salon creative haircut is a shorter interpretation of the previous firefly abstraction haircut. Tim runs the line from the side of the cheekbone to the top of the ear, to suit the model's oval face and draws the weight up and beyond the cheek line. Tim then works the side back areas, connecting with a seamless flow of shorter flatter graduation.
Tim next works with a central section in the back. He starts on the left-hand side with horizontal sections, elevates the hair to 45 degrees and cuts a square line using the side area as a guide. This builds up a flatter graduated shape through the centre back, but still achieves a good proportion of weight for the head shape and crown areas and allowing him to tailor the back hairline.
The result is a refreshed take on a short classic with a defining bowed fringe, pioneering and gamine with an indication of little girl naivety and a hint of counter culture.
