Laminam Star Maker
Introducing Star Maker, the 100 cm x 300 cm quartz-based panel with parametrically designed 3D pentagonal pattern, which can be divided into three modular 1 meter by 1 meter tiles. Designed by Mac Stopa, Star Maker’s tessellating geometric pattern with 3D pentagonal star shape is organized in a hexagonal tessellation. By moving or turning adjacent tiles, a number of pattern tessellations creating multiple geometric expressions are achieved. Using Laminam’s innovative high temperature treatment, Mac’s graphic design is melted in the slabs creating new visual performance and superb durability; the surface has high resistance to deep abrasion, mechanical stress, chemicals, wear and bending. These large, thin and perfectly flat stain resistant quartz panels are ideal for floors, walls and stairs in public areas and in residential projects and for both indoor and outdoor applications, including elevations in large scale architecture. By moving or turning the adjacent panels, architects can determine what type of pattern tessellation is most appropriate for a building elevation. Star Maker will be exhibited at two locations during Milan Design Week 2016: at Salone del Mobile, Fiera Rho and at Laminam’s Milan showroom, via Mercato 3.
