Cycling Written by Carrie Chan
Round and round, picking up stones and leaves Carefully cycling across the street And when it gets too dark to ride Well find our way across the park
Chorus Were 10 again You ask me why I like to go cycling with you I like to go cycling with you
As we grow up, see you less and less Called you up, said you had someone else Buy a car, hurry and grow up fast Go to bar so that Id forget
These eyes they dont see that well Carefully cycling across the street To the cars speeding through the lights Im just a man, running out of time
Carrie's note: How does one define love? There are countless songs written about love and its tiring as a songwriter to face yourself when youre in the process of composing something new and you realize that there is nothing new. All you have to sing about is love. Again.
So nothing really original about these songs; they are about love and the struggle to define it. Love which leads nowhere, into back lanes and empty spaces. Young love which carries into old age and remains as fresh. Love which has no substance in the real world but carries shape, melody and meaning when made into a song.
If these song are a Christmas tree, Ive hung my favorite ornaments warm hands, cold hands, bicycles, starry skies and clouds passing by. Well turn on the fairy lights and watch it twinkle. Red. White. Blue.
