Marcel has dedicated his life to gastronomy and honing his skills as a chef. Promoted to prep cook when just sixteen, he was the youngest person in the kitchen, and he's been changing the game ever since. Marcel attended the acclaimed Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in New York, serving for a while as the Sous Chef to Dwayne Lipuma at the school's award-winning Ristorante Caterina de' Medici.Since then, Marcel has continued to pursue the progression of gastronomy and at the young age of 25, gained national notoriety in season two of Bravo's Top Chef, finishing Runner-Up.
Marcel currently resides in Los Angeles running his very successful catering company Modern Global Tasting, and working on a restaurant concept to be announced later this year.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
