I'm not going to try to hide it...this was my absolute favorite match of the whole evening. Every turn was crucial, every single moment a nailbiter...and even though this one got uploaded out of order, it was the last match I had, so it was good to go out on a high note.

Random Wi-Fi Match
vs. ニッケル ("Nickel")

Okay, so first thing to point out...Gallade isn't nearly that fast, so this one's apparently running a Choice Scarf set. Now, I have a Gallade and a Gardevoir of my own...and they both have the same monstrous Special Defense stat (in fact, with only Attack and Sp. Attack mirroring each other and different moves, the two are otherwise identical save for the moves they use), so I'm fairly confident that one super-effective Special move on my part wouldn't be enough to do him in...but I couldn't very well risk a switch crippling one of my reserves so early on. I just didn't expect that Gallade was equipped to take the initiative like that.

On the upside, Spiritomb finally gets to strut his stuff and show off why I love him so much in all his quirky and whimsical wonder. I just hope Nickel didn't mind too much all the ridiculousness that Spiritomb got away with...but it was fun all the same, so I won't apologize for it either.

In hindsight, it would've probably been better to lead off with Spiritomb anyway, since he doesn't care one lick about what type of opponent he's fighting, although he does enjoy tormenting physical attackers more than special types with his Will-o-Wisp.

Strategically speaking, I think I've got a little ways to go before I'm comfortable letting Spiritomb do his thing without some lingering reservations...so I sent out Froslass first, because four of the opposing team's members were weak to her attacks, but it probably would've been prudent to keep her out of harm's way until I could size up my enemy's deployment and put up a better fight when say Vaporeon or Rotom might have shown up.

Sableye had fun, too...but there was just no way he was getting past that Bronzong without a fight, no way no how.

That Sitrus Berry made my heart sink a little bit...but then again, so always does a Vaporeon in general.

I used Froslass, Spiritomb, and Sableye. Nickel chose Gallade, Vaporeon, and Bronzong.
