Melnet Theme of the Month for April 2011 is 'wedding tunes' (don't know why!). Here's a couple of tunes in that vein. The first, Kitty's Wedding, I heard recently at a music session in Windermere - it wsa probably gleaned from an Irish source. I found the second tune in The Furness Tradition tune book - it appears in the Browne collection from Troutbeck, Westmorland and the Winder collection from North Lancashire, but it probably derives from a Scottish tune. They're played on a Saltarelle D/G melodeon with the stop out on the right hand to take out the lower voice.
