Sara Ontaneda is an Ecuadorian-American singer-songwriter based in New York City. She writes colorful music that mixes Folk, Indie Pop, R&B and Latin elements. Sara discovered her passion for music at a young age, studying classical piano and voice. During her teens, she started to write and produce some of her early works. In August 2014, Sara released her single "Pero Hoy" worldwide in digital format under the CVRA LVDORVM label. The song was reviewed positively and is played in Ecuadorian radios. In July 2015, Sara released her first EP, "Marte y Jupiter". It received numerous positive reviews from journals in Latin America and Spain. This led her to tour in Ecuador, as well as in cities of the US, including playing shows at SXSW 2016, Outside The Box Boston 2016, and South Florida Folk Festival 2017.
In March 2017, Sara released her first full-lenght album, "Entre Espacios y Colores" where she took the roles of producer as well as songwriter.
Style-wise, Sara has been compared to artists like Natalia Lafourcade, Julieta Venegas, Alejandro y Maria Laura, due to her sweet, yet powerful, velvet-like vocals. Yet, Sara's lyrics are bilingual (Spanish and English) music, expressing her multi-cultural background.
