Humid (HVVMD)
Hemlock Tavern
San Francisco, CA

NOTE: Audio-only recording. Embargoed from public view until first release.

Recorded by thehappyone with Olympus LS-5 with built-in mics. Did bring the externals but didn't have them plugged in correctly. Luckily, it all worked out.

Last track not positively ID'ed.

As you can see from the photo, the group is a five-piece, with a keyboardist, two guitarists, bassist, and drummer. Those not making up the backline team up on vocals.

Guitarists are the ubiquitous Margot from Silver Shadows and her unearthly flanged guitar bliss with their original drummer gal Janice Artiga and K. Dylan Edrich, ex-The Mallard (RIP and well worth checking out!) and The Spyrals, with the bassist in Ancient Wing (whom I have seen once or twice), and keyboardist/vocalist who was in Vela Eyes.

Having spun this a few times, I'm totally in love with it! I don't have any track names yet, though I think track 5 (and my favorite) is called "To The Limit". Sounds more like the *amazing* wild Silver Shadows first EP than the still excellent, but more manicured calypso-tinged dreamgaze of "Cold Plastic"...can't wait until the studio versions of these songs come out...

Some other videos I've found, both of "To The Limit"

1/Jul/2016: The Boat, Oakland CA (Kevin Brown)

16/Sep/2016: Hemlock Tavern, SF (Julia Johari)

Speaking of Vela Eyes, that's a group I've vaguely heard of but not heard or seen...to show you how many great bands there have been in SF/Oakland in recent years...they incorporate elements of post-punk / sh(o)egaze / + psyche/surf/garage or whatever you call that sound....and are really, really gooooood...a couple of samples...

Morning Star

Sweet (live at Bottom Of The Hill) ...a great live recording, by the way:
