Kate Hall (a student on the BA Technical Theatre Arts course at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama) takes fellow students Kai West (postgraduate double bass) and Nikesh Patel (BA Acting) on a tour of spaces in the school used by technical theatre students.

Design Realisation students work largely in the three spaces along the Silk Street edge of the school; scenery is built in the Construction workshop before moving next door to the Scenic Art studio to be painted. The Props department manufactures and adapts all kinds of weird and wonderful properties for use on stage. Students on the Stage and Costume Management pathway are just as active in the Rehearsal Rooms and the Costume department as they are on stage. Theatre Technology students look after lighting, sound and video in spaces such as the Silk Street Theatre and the Studio Theatre.
