Engaged leadership is a cornerstone of addressing diversity and inclusion because of their ability to view organizations from a macroscopic perspective and initiate and implement change. In this webinar, Kristen L. Eckstrand, Ph.D. and John Davis, M.D., Ph.D. empower leaders to ensure LGBT diversity and inclusion by (1) providing a clinically-relevant overview of LGBT health disparities and their cost to healthcare, (2) increasing awareness of the current gaps in LGBT academic medicine, (3) highlighting the role of leadership in successful LGBT initiatives, and (4) outlining easy wins for leadership to integrate and evaluate LGBT initiatives at their own institutions.

John Davis, M.D., Ph.D. in an Associate Dean for Medical Education at The Ohio State University and the LGBT Issues-Based Representative for the AAMC Group on Diversity and Inclusion (GDI). Kristen L. Eckstrand, Ph.D., is the Co-Director of the Vanderbilt Program for LGBTI Health and Chair of the AAMC LGBT & DSD-Affected Patient Care Advisory Committee.
