Angelina Jolie: We chose to make a film set during the war in Bosnia in part to remind the world of what happened there so recently. It is our hope that In the Land of Blood and Honey contributes to the discussion and understanding of this war, and the tremendous toll that war takes on individuals.

Luis Moreno Ocampo: So humanity needed the Second World War and the Holocaust to grade Nuremberg - and then nothing happened until Yugoslavia conflict, and then you have Tribunal, and the world learned we need a permanent court.

LMO: As a prosecutor for the International Criminal Court my job is to make justice - but to stop wars, to stop conflicts.

LMO: I think the world cannot imagine, people believe normal life is a peaceful city in Netherlands or in California - it's not true it's not normal life - this is the result of a lot of work - and the world is not normal in this sense - it's heavy, it's wild and when there's no rules and justice the consequence is you could be raped, you could be killed.

LMO: Justice isn't about just prosecutor and judges, justice is about all the political actors - many people, including local leaders - so justice is more than the courtroom activity.

LMO: The way to avoid crisis is - is not reconciliation, it's not dialogue, it's called law and justice. Because if someone raped my daughter no one can force me to have a dialogue with the rapist, no one - or reconciliate with him - but the law forces me not to kill the rapist. So that's just the concept - it's basic - it's not that we need friends, we need people not killing each other - it's coexistence - and the system to produce coexistence is called justice and law. That's it, and that's why when we're talking about justice - the concept is basic - you can live in peace with your enemies, you don't need to be friends with your enemies.

LMO: My work is to prosecute war criminals - but this movie is showing the meaning of the war much better than any trial, because it's showing the meaning of the war to normal people -- how it's effecting everyone so I think this movie is basically about justice -- it's a movie against war -- basically it's a movie that -- we should organize us differently because war is disaster -- war is destruction of everything, and the movie is interesting because the movie shows this big idea in little pieces. The movie shows the big idea that war is insane with little stories that you can follow.
