CastleVania Bloodlines is the first, and so far only CastleVania game to be featured on a Sega system. Wanting to dodge Nintendo's stringent censorship, Konami went to Sega for the creation of this game, though ironically they would have to do a neutered Nintendo-friendly version for release in Europe, known as CastleVania: The New Generation. The game is known for it's impressive (for the genesis) graphics and great songs, as well as it's difficulty and numerous boss battles. Players could choose between John Morris (son of Quincy Morris, a character from the novel Dracula) or Eric LeCarde, making this the first CastleVania game not to feature a Belmont.
