The Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking is a catalyst for realising the potential of the European bioeconomy. It helps to develop innovative technologies to transform natural materials into greener everyday products.
The everyday items in this walking exhibition, organised during the Bratislava Bioeconomy Conference, are not something we need to look into the future to find. Face creams, skateboards, textiles – these are just a snapshot of what the bio-based industries sector can offer. The Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking is bringing the right partners together to prove this. Innovative projects are demonstrating new technologies and new models which will bring great products to market, create jobs and stimulate the bioeconomy.
The walking exhibition was an innovative and engaging way to show how everyday objects can have bio-based ingredients, and that the application of bio-based technologies offers new opportunities for developing the bioeconomy in Europe. This unique, vanguard exhibition presented more than 20 different bio-based products from more than a dozen companies, displaying current, concrete realisations of the bioeconomy.
