The Eugene Film Society and the University of Oregon Cinema Studies Program present, in collaboration with the Eugene Weekly's "Next Big Thing" contest and Hop Valley Brewing Company, the EFS 72 Hour Music Video Competition. From July 17-20th, selected local filmmakers will produce music videos for musicians and bands whose hit singles are chosen as finalists in the Eugene Weekly's "Next Big Thing" contest.

On July 15th, Filmmakers and "NBT" finalists will exchange concepts for music videos at a meet-and-greet held at Hop Valley Brewing Company then will be asked to rank each other before filmmakers are assigned singles for video production. At the kick-off event, filmmakers will be notified of their designated single and be given 72 hours to shoot, edit and submit a music video for it.

Music videos submitted by deadline at a wrap-up event will be screened for and judged by an audience at the Bijou Art Cinemas. The music video chosen "Audience Award" winner will receive a $500 cash prize and a $500 rental credit at Cascade Production Rentals and the related musician or band will also receive a $500 cash prize. Films chosen as "Best of the Fest" will be packaged and screened at Cowfish, Level Up Arcade and Territorial Vineyards.
