Featuring the stained glass artists of Lightworks, this short film captures the craftsmen and women of the stained glass studio producing a traditionally made bespoke panel. Detailing all stages of the process, including design adaptation (of an original design entitled "Sancta Lucia" by US illustrator Matthew Alderman), glass masking and mask cutting, glass painting, kiln firing, leading up and soldering, the film is an insight into not just the process of production but also the considerable time and creative energy invested into the craft, even a project of such small scale. Lightworks Stained Glass, based in Lancashire in the UK, are a professional studio specializing in the design and production of bespoke new commissions and the restoration and conservation of historic stained and leaded glass.
