Fan-tan is an ancient game of Chinese origin that dates back to at least 2,000 years ago and was once a favorite pastime of Chinese immigrant workers in America during the 19th century. The objective of the game is to bet how many beads are left after the banker divided them into batches of four. Though it is not that much popular as it once was, Oriental Game still included the fan-tan game in our product portfolio to give players and operators a complete Asian offering.

Our live fan-tan is truly an enjoyable game to play. While players choose the chips to bet and pick where to place their bets on the layout, the dealer will first shake the whole bunch of beads inside a plastic box and then use a metal bowl to fetch some of them. Once the metal bowl containing the beads is removed, the dealer would then diligently group them into fours. Any bets placed on the “4” wins if the last beads amount to four; bets placed on “3” wins if there are three beads. The same goes for two and one. As the dealer is grouping the beads into fours, players are kept at the edge of their seats as they wait patiently for the last batch of beads.
