When the water level rises in the CADS the float switch closes the circuit and actuates the motor drive to advance the cloth. When the cloth advances the water level drops. The cycle repeats itself until the 100 yard roll is used up. in this case 3 months. This is the only filter of its kind that maintains a specific micron rating and flow. All of the waste caught on the cloth is pulled out of the water so the particles do not breakdown in the aquarium water.
