This is a song from the Puzzles of 1925, a Broadway revue that played between February and May of that year. The music for the song was written by Leo Daniderff, and 12 years later was taken by Charlie Chaplin for use in his movie Modern Times. In that movie's credits, Leo Daniderff was not given any credit for writing the song. Singing the nonsense lyrics that he wrote, the world heard Chaplin's voice for the first time since all his appearances as the Little Tramp were invariably silent. In his next film, "The Great Dictator" Chaplin spoke for the first time.
