See more at http://www.cityprojectca.org/ourwork/... ABC 7 News reports on The City Project's efforts to open the Olympic size pool that is closed to local chlidren at the $168 million Miguel Contreras high school in park-poor Central L.A. because neither the City nor the school district have paid for lifeguards. Lifeguards make $13.08 per hour and the City has 700 lifeguards. We agree with the Downtown News editorial: "Find the funds. Open the pool. Stop the excuses. Give the community what it deserves this summer."
