The RCS promotion video - enjoy and stay for the outtakes! The Royal Choral Society was formed for the opening of London's magnificent Royal Albert Hall as the hall's 'house choir', singing its inaugural concert in 1872. In its illustrious history it has performed under the batons of the greatest names in music, including Verdi (we premiered his Requiem in the UK in 1875), Elgar and Dvorak, and the choir was conducted by Sir Malcolm Sargent for almost 40 years. Flourishing today with nearly 200 members, the choir enjoys singing a variety of repertoire in concert halls and more unusual venues (ships, tents, pop festivals -- you name it!) in the UK and abroad. We are based in London and welcome new members every week. Find out more on www.royalchoralsociety.co.uk.
