Rick Hansen (CC, OBC) is known as the Man in Motion for undertaking an epic two-year circumnavigation around the world in his wheelchair. He was made a Companion of the Order of Canada in 1987. Hansen is a four-time world champion, nine-time Pan Am gold medalist, and two-time Paralympic gold medalist. He is also CEO of the Rick Hansen Foundation, which envisions a world without barriers for people with disabilities. Hansen lives in Steveston, British Columbia.
