Pest monitoring, pest exclusion, and the sanitation and the maintenance of waste and recycling areas are discussed. Pest management challenges in school kitchens and cafeterias are highlighted. Lastly, participants are led through a virtual school walkthrough to identify pest vulnerable areas. This webinar is one in a series by EPA to help schools adopt a proactive approach to pest control called Integrated Pest Management, or IPM. As a smart, sensible, and sustainable approach to managing pests, IPM takes action to address the underlying conditions that enable pests to thrive. By practicing IPM, schools reduce student and staff exposure to pests and pesticides. For more information about EPA’s School IPM Program, go to http://www.epa.gov/pestwise/ipminscho...
