Writing Center @ SDSU Library
The SDSU Writing Center is a free service for students at all levels and across all disciplines who would like to strengthen their academic writing abilities.
In the Writing Center you can meet with an experienced coach in a one-on-one setting. Your coach will engage with you about your writing and broaden your understanding of audience expectations. These coaching sessions are 30 minutes long. You can schedule an appointment at our website writingcenter.sdsu.edu (display link). Be sure to schedule your appointment far enough in advance so you have plenty of time to continue working on your paper.
You can meet with undergraduate and graduate international and multilingual students in the Writing Center, and you can also get help with dissertation and thesis writing. Bring whatever work you have completed so far. If you don’t have a draft or anything written, the session can be devoted to brainstorming.
If you cannot come in for a face-to-face coaching session, never fear! The Writing Center offers online consultation services that include electronic tutoring and instructional material.
We offer workshops throughout each semester that cover topics such as preparing for the Writing Placement Assessment (WPA), Understanding and Writing an Argument, and Strengthening Your Writing with Sources.
As you can see, the Writing Center offers multiple services to support student writers at SDSU. Check out the Writing Center’s website to find information about upcoming events, the hours of operation, and for appointment information.
