Ballet Rocks — From Bach to Pink Floyd, has the company performing nine works with seven premieres by six noted choreographers. "I think this will show the depth of the company, artistically and dramatically, in a mixed program that's exciting, accessible and challenging at the same time," says Destrooper, whose premieres of his own works, Le Banc and Dance Dreams, are also on the ticket. Ballet Rocks opens Oct 7-9 at the McPherson Playhouse in Victoria, then starts its tour in three more locations in British Columbia: Oct 14th at the Max Cameron in Powell River. Oct 22nd at the Cowichan Theatre in Duncan and at the Centennial Theatre in North Vancouver, BC, Oct 29th. In Victoria only, Denise Djokic, internationally celebrated Canadian cellist, will perform five Bach Cello suites. The hard-core 110-minute program is laced with humour, and showcases the dancers talents as well as new company dancer/choreographer Sandrine Cassini.
