How can Europe use space to tackle challenges in such areas as energy, healthcare, mobility and the environment? How can European businesses, entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) harness the power of space technology to build the innovative applications and services needed to address these challenges?
These questions and more were answered during the 2016 European Space Solutions conference. The event showcased the essential role space technology plays in our everyday lives and helped European industry better understand – and access – its business potential.
The week-long event featured an array of speakers, including: European Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs Elżbieta Bieńkowska, former European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut André Kuipers, and Shell Vice President of Technology and Chief Scientist Geophysics Dirk Smit, among many others.
