A high-density slum in Kirti Nagar, Delhi had no access to clean water for over 40 years. The residents had suffered from numerous stomach related diseases because of the bad quality of water.
Bank of America paired up with WaterAid India and FORCE, its partner NGO in order to find a solution to this problem. Once every month, the fluoride content, pH level, and nitrogen content of the improved water are checked by them. Along with educating the locals about the hazards linked with unclean water, they also provide chlorine as an immediate solution. Hygiene and waste management have also witnessed an improvement in the community, as a whole.
