When Lisa Williams, a new advocate with #EveryoneIn, became the pastor at San Pedro Methodist Church, she saw a need that wasn't being met.
Hundreds of her neighbors were living outside, and someone had to step up to help bring them the support they needed. So she got started, by spearheading a supportive housing development next door to her church.
“I realized that once you learn somebody’s name, they no longer become a statistic. You are compelled to help them. That’s why I’m doing this, and will keep doing this.”
Today, that plot of land means everything to her and her congregants, and to their friends living in her community without a home.
It means hope.
