i met a man on the side of the road that said he don't know where he's been he said "i've lost a lot of friends and i could use a new friend. could i lend you a hand?" well i don't trust you cause i know you're a liar. but you can help me cause my arm's gettin tired. but i don't wanna be your friend cause i don't know where you been and you can't go where i'm goin. i'm goin away i'm leavin bryan county
i'll probably head to texas in the summer or fall try to pay for school with a part time job i'll find a lady to be lazy with me cause i'll be on probabtion till i'm like 27 at least and i ain't here to change for no one i got no plans to change the world i do enough changing my clothes every morning with whatever clothes are close to clean on my floor.
well you know that i ain't from the streets but i've been down some hard roads i drove by you with my windows rolled down yesterday to let you know that i'm goin away i'm leavin bryan county
he said "how many people have you told that to? can you count em on your fingers? you got so many stories that you said happened to you but they're just undeveloped pictures." well let me tell you my momma taught me better than to try to wife a whore and i'd keep pictures in a box underneath my bed if it wasn't a mattress on the floor.
