In this video we describe our efforts to develop technology that will ultimately permit us to understand how humans and many animals form long lasting social attachments. Examples of such social attachments include those formed between spouses family members and friends. We believe that understanding the biological basis of such attachments will suggest therapeutic strategies to heal the disruptions in social attachments observed in many mental illnesses such as autism and schizophrenia.
