The Universities Entrepreneurship Competition is an annual simulation based undergraduate competition that aims to develop student’s entrepreneurial skills and General Electric (GE), Nigeria was the 2016 headline sponsor for this event which was a pilot of the Universities Business Challenge.
The use of simulation in training in itself is not a novel but hardly practiced in Nigeria. However, the benefit is primarily in the fact that simulation based training has been tried and tested as one of the most effective method of learning, producing quicker and more sustainable results as it replaces on the job learning.
Accelerated Learning systems facilitated a 5 weeks entrepreneurship skills development competition with the vision to create/develop a platform which would drive a shift in focus from Teaching to Learning and engage students within an environment they would make business decision, see the impact of their decision and reflect on their own learning.
