First time out with a new DPMS LR-308. I've owned a number of AR15-type variants and Ruger Mini-14s in .223. They have all been great, but this DPMS LR-308 chambered in .308 takes the cake. It has a 24-inch fluted stainless bull barrel free-floated in an aluminum hand-guard. It has a Chip McCormick trigger and uses a 19-round magazine. This video really is the first time out I shot it. I sighted it in and, using a mil-dot reticule, I estimated drop to hit a steel gong at 500 yards. I've been able to hit gongs at this range using .223, but the wind blows the bullets all over the place. Not so with .308!
