This session takes a realistic look at some of the main reasons why it can be hard to get some teenage students to speak in English. Dave Spencer suggests some general tips, tricks and strategies that can help us to overcome our students’ reluctance to speak. Then we investigate a variety of practical classroom activities and games that can help to encourage even the most reticent teenage student to begin to participate orally in class.
