[Edit] Now that I've found the time to start playing again I have come out of retirement with a new goal: 42:3x. With my current strats a 28 sits somewhere between 42:30-35, so 28 could be a future goal while I'm there.

Performed on the 21st May (early hours)

This will probably be my last run for this category. It's been a wild ride but it's time to stop now this goal has been reached. Any further improvements are just nitpicking on my part. I could certainly do a 42:4x but such a struggle would be unnecessary for my sanity and I wish to devote my time to other things now.

About the video quality: I have been using a USB device to capture the run from my dvd recorder. The quality is decent but unfortunately it quite often creates a ghostly Samus when she takes damage, takes an elevator ride and similar things happen to some enemies as well. There's also a few graphical distortions that occur occasionally but last only briefly. It's regretful to upload a run like this but I had no other choice. I think the quality is generally quite pleasing to the eye though and is easy to get used to it's downfalls.

Notable improvements:

First time CWJ: :P, Need i say any more?. This stuff is pretty mandatory but it is the downfall of this otherwise glorious route.

2 round Phantoon. Thanks to Reeve for making this strat workable in a run. It certainly makes Gravity splits better on average by eliminating a 3rd round.

Perfect Lower Norfair escape.

Notable mistakes:

- Short charge for fast pillars. Sticky hands, hesitation, utter crap.
- Damage taken at top of worst room in the game.
- Causing Ninja Pirate to drop health instead of some supers on the 2nd spark, subsequently costing time having to face Ridley with just 7 supers.
- Missing jump through Baby Kraid's door.
- Draygon: Bad RNG/bad x factor, low health for blue suit spark. probably the biggest overall time waste in the run costing me 42:4x pace.
- Way too cautious Metroid skip
- Butt clench/slow MB phase 2.
