Just In Time, one of the great jazz standards was composed by Jule Styne in 1956. It was recorded by Tony Bennett and became a big hit for him in 1956. Frank Sinatra recorded this song in 1959 for his Come Dance With Me album and it was a hit again. This Sinatra album won the Grammy for best record of the year, and Sinatra won the Grammy for best male vocalist. All jazz musicians love to play any song made famous by Mr.Sinatra.This arrangement was done by Matt Harris for the Buddy Rich Big Band. This chart features Tony Castellano on piano,Jim Burge on alto sax,and Tom Ziegelhofer on flugelhorn. This is always a fun chart to play, and the band swings hard on this number.I can remember seeing all the road Big Bands like Buddy Rich,Woody Herman,Maynard Ferguson, and Stan Kenton playing at these small night clubs where I lived in Connecticut. It was great to be right on top of these Big Bands and hear them up close.A great way to see and hear a Big Band for me. This club The Loft in Sarasota Florida was just like those clubs of the past.It was a fun place to do a concert. I`m trying my best to keep the artform of Big Band Jazz alive. So lets all try and support this great music. Ken Loomer Leader & Drummer
