"Baby Me" ~ Glenn Miller & His Orchestra w/ Kay Starr (1939) Bluebird Records #10372 (Flip side of, "Blue Orchids")

Kay Starr was born July 21, 1922, as Katherine Laverne Starks in Dougherty, Oklahoma. She sang with Joe Venuti & his orchestra , starting at the young age of just 15 years old. In 1939, she sang with Bob Crosby's Orchestra and then briefly with Glenn Miller's Orchestra, while Marion Hutton was out. She recorded two numbers with Miller , "Baby Me" (BB#10372) and "Love With A Capital You" (BB#10383). She would blossom into an amazing vocalist, so much so, that later in the 1950's, even singers like, Elvis Presley, would list her as being one of the major influences on his vocal style.
