Alaska Financial Company allows you to invest in pooled trust deeds without the hassles or risks of holding real estate notes directly.

I was concerned about the .001 interest rate I was getting on my savings accounts and, as I said, I took a bath in the market and got involved with UBS. And so then I decided, well if somebody would offer me 7% of my money, I'm going to give it a shot.

You're getting that return every quarter from your investment and I like that part of it and it's come to be true. They live up to their expectations and I'm very happy with them.

Really, the thing I like best about Alaska Financial Company is it does give me the safety of having pooled investment. It's a fixed return. You can count on that.

We feel that's it's a secure, steady investment option for us.

Well, I'd recommend Alaska Financial because they've got a good program and I wouldn't feel bad because they don't take risks. So it's not like your money goes up and down, like in stocks, and you hope you're having a good day. It's a continuous, dependable amount of return that you're getting on your investment, and so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to somebody else.

Would I recommend Alaska Financial to others? I have.

Hi. My name is Caleb Preston, the Director of Marketing at Alaska Financial Company. We're a family-owned business that's been based out of Anchorage, Alaska, since 1989. My parents actually come from a commercial fishing background here in Alaska. They started a company, called McKinley Mortgage, out of their college dorm in Fairbanks, Alaska. And now, 25 years later, we own both McKinley Mortgage and Alaska Financial Company as a full-service trust deed investment firm.

What we do is we offer investors a safe, stable source of income backed by real estate notes. Over the years we've paid investors a hundred million interest income from these first trust deeds and have purchased over 2,700 of these real estate-backed deeds of trust.

Our current clientele are primarily Alaskan native corporations that are seeking income, individual retirees, and simply investors that are tired of stock market volatility, low interest rates at the bank, and fees eating up their portfolio.

Alaska Financial Company is a pooled trust deed investment fund. So, what that means is, we have over 200 clients that are currently invested in Alaska Financial. We take those funds and we buy privately held real estate notes for cash at a discount. By doing that we are able to pay investors a fixed 6 to 8% return for 5 years with no fees and we buy real estate notes that are in between a 10 to 12% return on our investment. We make the spread as a difference. We're an ideal piece for investors that want stable income, either inside of or out of a retirement account, and that wants to earn a fixed 6 to 8% return for 5 years.

One of the advantages of trust deed investing is it's backed by tangible, real estate equity. Whenever we buy a real estate note, there's always a piece of property that--on average--is worth twice as much as the balance of the note. That lowers our risk and lowers your risk as the investor because there's real security behind the investment.

We're a local, family business here in Anchorage. Alaska, and we're approachable. We take time to get to know you and you can come in and talk to any of our friendly staff at any point in time.

Also, we have a proven track record. Since 2009, our current fund--AFC3--has paid a fixed 7% return with no losses, so it's an investment that you can trust to perform when it matters most.
